Retail Security

Security in Retail stores has become an increasingly important feature in recent years. The upsurge in retail crime has significant repercussions, both in financial and personal terms, for retailers.

Although Retail crime is a significant concern for retailers, many do not provide any security training for staff and as a consequence are at greater risk of incurring substantial losses.

Recent research highlights the effects which retail crime can have on profits. It is estimated that up to 25% of all retail profit is lost each year as a result of criminal activity. Therefore the importance of good retail security knowledge, policies and procedures cannot be underestimated in modern retailing.

In order to minimise losses it is important that the business has adequate Retail Security measures in place. The Retail Security module aims to increase staff awareness in relation to Retail Security and these staff members are the first line of defence in the fight against retail crime.

The Retail Security module concentrates on the main areas of concern, namely:

  • Security Procedures
  • Security of People
  • Security of Stock
  • Security of Premises
